Personalities Bios

Rodger Davis – Professional Golfer

Rodger Davis, who has 22 career victories under his belt, is one of Australia’s most popular golfers and was part of the "Australian Invasion" of the European Tour in the eighties.

Rodger emerged as a name by winning three times on the Australian Tour in his third year as a Pro. His success encouraged him to try for Europe and he obtained his European card. 1986 saw him win the PGA Championship and the Dunhill Cup with Greg Norman and David Graham, he finished seventh in the Order of Merit before returning home to win the Australian and New Zealand Opens.

From 1988 to 1993 Rodger won tournaments every year, with high points of his career including: finishing runner-up in the 1987 British Open, winning a Porsche for a hole in one (Epson Grand Prix 1988), winning the Australian Order of Merit in 1990 & 1991 and winning the prestigious Volvo Masters (Valderrama 1991). Rodger also won the Cannes Open in 1993 and recently won the Toshiba Classic. Rodger has now made a smooth transition to the Senior’s Tour, having successfully obtained his card for the US Seniors Tour in 2002, care of a 3rd place finish at Tour School.

Rodger remains one of golf’s great characters; he has acted as Patron for Cystic Fibrosis in the UK and is now keen to support CF in Australia.

Scott Draper - Professional Golfer

Scott Draper, professional golfer and former tennis champion, is committed to helping raise awareness and funds for Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Scott has been a passionate supporter since his former wife, Kellie Draper, lost the battle with CF some years ago.

As a sportsman, Scott’s accomplishments are remarkable; the mere fact of being a champion within two highly competitive sports is an impressive and rare achievement. During his 12 years on the ATP Tour Scott ranked a career high of 42 in singles, he was a three time member of the Australian Davis Cup Team, took out the Singles Title at the 1998 Queen's Club Championship and won mixed doubles at the 2005 Australian Open and even coached Lleyton Hewitt at the 2007 Australian Open. Scott cemented his golf career in 2007 by winning his first major golf title at the 2007 NSW PGA Championship.

In January 2007, Scott released his book called "Too Good: The Scott Draper Story", released by Random House Australia. Recently Scott represented CFA in Channel 7’s “It Take’s Two” where he is revealing another talent - singing.

Scott generously gives his time and support to CFA and is a wonderful Ambassador for 65 Roses Day.

Nick Farr-Jones – Former Wallabies Captain

Nick’s early career path took him from Newington College to Sydney University, where he studied Law from 1980 - 1985 and then to the Sydney city law firm of Garland Hawthorn Brahe. As captain of the team which brought home the Rugby Union World Cup in 1991, the 1992 Bledisloe Cup and which convincingly defeated the Springboks in August 1992, Nick was Australia’s most capped scrum half and most capped captain. Nick retired from professional playing in 1993. Shortly after retirement Nick and his family relocated to Paris for two years where Nick worked in the banking industry with Société Générale.

Since retirement, Nick has kept himself extremely busy with his work in the Sydney office of Société Générale where he is Managing Director – Commodities Australia. Nick is a Board Member of the Wesley Mission. He was also a Councillor with Sydney City Council (where, amongst other things, he chaired the Access Committee). However, all of these activities revolve around his most important and proudest achievement - his family - wife and four children. Nick is very much an ambassador for Rugby Union, as evidenced by the AM he was awarded in 1992 for services to Rugby. Motivation, leadership, team work, winning, persistence - Nick Farr-Jones excels in all of these.
